Removal And Installation: Installation

Paying attention to the following items, install in reverse order of removal.

• Align spiral cable correctly when installing steering wheel.
  1. Set the front wheels in the straight-ahead position.
  2. Make sure that spiral cable is in neutral position.

     The neutral position is detected by turning left about 2.5 or 3.5 revolutions from right end position. Align the two marks. See Fig 1 . The spiral cable can be turned up to about 2.5 or 3.5 turns from neutral position to both right and left. The number of turns depends on spiral cable type. Always confirm the number indicated on the caution label attached to spiral cable before starting work.

• Always work from side of air bag module.

Place combination switch assembly with the L-mark side facing down.

Align the protruding portions of combination switch assembly with their corresponding holes in steering wheel, then install steering wheel. Refer to Fig 3 .
