Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECKING SELF-DIAGNOSIS RESULTS 

    Check self-diagnosis results.

    Self-diagnosis results
    STOP LAMP SW

    Is above displayed in the self-diagnosis display item? 

    1. YES: GO TO 2.
    2. NO: INSPECTION END.
  2. CHECK CONNECTOR 
    1. Disconnect stop lamp switch connector and VDC/TCS/ABS control unit connector.
    2. Reconnect connectors securely.
    3. Start engine.
    4. Repeat pumping brake pedal carefully several times, then perform self-diagnosis again.

    Do any self-diagnosis items appear? 

    1. YES: GO TO 3.
    2. NO: Poor connection. Repair or replace applicable connector.
  3. CHECK STOP LAMP SWITCH CIRCUIT 
    1. Turn ignition switch OFF and disconnect VDC/TCS/ABS control unit harness connector.
    2. Check continuity between VDC/TCS/ABS control unit harness connector E218 terminal 48 (R/W) and ground.

    OK or NG 

    1. OK: Perform VDC/TCS/ABS control unit self-diagnosis again.
    2. NG: Open or short in harness between VDC/TCS/ABS control unit and stop lamp switch
