Inspection Procedure

NOTE: When using the Techstream with the ignition switch OFF to troubleshoot:

Connect the Techstream to the vehicle, and turn a courtesy switch on and off at 1.5 second intervals until communication between the tester and vehicle begins.

HINT:

When DTC B2325 and a LIN communication stop DTC are output simultaneously, first perform the troubleshooting for the LIN communication stop DTC. Then perform the troubleshooting for DTC B2325.

  1. CLEAR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).
  2. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).

      Result: 

      B2325 LIN COMMUNICATION BUS MALFUNCTION RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B62325 output reoccurs A
      DTC B1273 output reoccurs B
      DTC output does not reoccur C

    B:  Go TO DTC B1273 

    C: USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

    A: Go to Next Step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR)

    1. Disconnect the J2 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the W3 gear connector.
    3. Measure the resistance and voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR) RESISTANCE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J2-10 (LIN2) - W3-3 (SPD) Always Below 1 Ω
      J2-10 (LIN2) or W3-3 (SPD) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      Standard voltage 

      HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR) VOLTAGE SPECIFICATION

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J2-10 (LIN2) or W3-3 (SPD) - Body ground Always Below 1 V

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to Next Step 

  4. REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (DRIVER SIDE JUNCTION BLOCK) 
    1. Temporarily replace the main body ECU with a new or normally functioning one.
    2. Clear the DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).
  5. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Check for DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).

      Result: 

      HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR) RESULT CHART

      Result Proceed to
      DTC B2325 output does not reoccur A
      DTC B2325 output reoccurs B

    B: REMOVE SLIDING ROOF DRIVE GEAR SUB-ASSEMBLY  (See DISASSEMBLY )

    A: Go to Next Step
