Inspection Procedure

  1. CHECK FOR DTC 
    1. Clear the DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).
    2. Recheck for DTC (see DTC CHECK / CLEAR  ).

      OK: DTC B1244 is not output. 

    NG: Go to step 2 

    OK: USE SIMULATION METHOD TO CHECK  (See HOW TO PROCEED WITH TROUBLESHOOTING )

  2. READ VALUE OF TECHSTREAM (AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR) 
    1. Operate the Techstream according to the display and select "DATA LIST" or "Data List".
      1. Techstream

        Main Body 

        MAIN BODY - TECHSTREAM DATA LIST CHART

        Tester Display Measurement Item/Range Normal Condition Diagnostic Note
        Illumination Rate Illumination rate / min.: 0, max.: 99.99 Actual illumination rate is displayed -

        OK: Output illuminance is as shown in table above. 

    NG: Go to step 3 

    OK: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  3. CHECK MAIN BODY ECU (LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR VOLTAGE) 
    1. Disconnect the J3 ECU connector.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      MAIN BODY ECU (LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR VOLTAGE)

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      J3-20 (CLTB) - J3-18 (CLTE) Ignition switch ON 11 to 14 V
      Ignition switch OFF Below 1 V

    NG: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

    OK: Go to next step 

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (MAIN BODY ECU - AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR) 
    1. Disconnect the J3 ECU connector.
    2. Disconnect the K19 sensor connector.

    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      MAIN BODY ECU - AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J3-20 (CLTB) - K19-6 (CLTB) Always Below 1 Ω
      J3-19 (CLTS) - K19-5 (CLTS)
      J3-18 (CLTE) - K19-3 (CLTE)
      J3-20 (CLTB) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      J3-19 (CLTS) - Body ground
      J3-18 (CLTE) - Body ground

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE AUTOMATIC LIGHT CONTROL SENSOR  (see REMOVAL  )
