Inspection Procedure

  1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST BY TECHSTREAM (ILLUMINATION LIGHT) 
    1. Operate the Techstream according to the steps on the display and select "Active Test".

  2. INSPECT IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT 
    1. w/ Engine Immobilizer System:
      1. Remove the ignition key cylinder light (see REMOVAL ).

    2. w/o Engine Immobilizer System:
      1. Remove the ignition key cylinder light (see REMOVAL  ).
    3. Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 2 (ILL+) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 6 (ILL-), and then check that the light turns on.

      OK: Ignition key cylinder light turns on. 

      Result

    B: REPLACE IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT  (See REMOVAL )

    C: REPLACE IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT  (See INSPECTION PROCEDURE )

    A: Go to next step 

  3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT - MAIN BODY ECU AND BATTERY)

    1. Disconnect the J20*1 or J99*2 light connector.

      HINT:

      *1: w/ Engine Immobilizer System

      *2: w/o Engine Immobilizer System

    2. Disconnect the DD ECU connector.
    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      w/ Engine Immobilizer System 

      IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT - MAIN BODY ECU AND BATTERY VOLTAGE (W/ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM)

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J20-2 (ILL+) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V

      w/o Engine Immobilizer System 

      IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT - MAIN BODY ECU AND BATTERY VOLTAGE (W/O ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM)

      J99-2 (ILL+) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      w/ Engine Immobilizer System 

      IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT - MAIN BODY ECU AND BATTERY RESISTANCE (W/ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM

      J20-6 (ILL-) - DD-51 (ILE) Always Below 1 Ω
      J20-6 (ILL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

      w/o Engine Immobilizer System 

      IGNITION KEY CYLINDER LIGHT - MAIN BODY ECU AND BATTERY RESISTANCE (W/O ENGINE IMMOBILIZER SYSTEM

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J99-6 (ILL-) - DD-51 (ILE) Always Below 1 Ω
      J99-6 (ILL-) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  4. INSPECT FOOT LIGHT 
    1. Remove the foot light (see REMOVAL  ).

    2. Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1, and then check that the light turns on.

      OK: Foot light turns on. 

    NG: REPLACE FOOT LIGHT  (see REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (FOOT LIGHT - MAIN BODY ECU AND BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the J51 light connector.
    2. Disconnect the DD ECU connector.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      FOOT LIGHT - MAIN BODY ECU AND BATTERY VOLTAGE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J51-1 - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      FOOT LIGHT - MAIN BODY ECU AND BATTERY RESISTANCE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      J51-2-DD-51 (ILE) Always Below 1 Ω
      J51-2 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU 

  6. INSPECT ROOM LIGHT SWITCH 
    1. Remove the room light switch (see REMOVAL  ).

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      ROOM LIGHT SWITCH

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      5 (FCTY) - 10 (FLMP) Room light switch DOOR Below 1 Ω

    NG: REPLACE ROOM LIGHT SWITCH  (see REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. INSPECT ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the roof console box (see REMOVAL  ).

    2. Roof console box switch is DOOR.
    3. Connect the battery's positive (+) lead to terminal 2 (B) and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1 (CTY), and then check that the light turns on.

      OK: Map light turns on. 

    NG: REPLACE ROOF CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY  (see REMOVAL  )

    OK: Go to next step 

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ROOF CONSOLE BOX - MAIN BODY ECU AND BATTERY) 
    1. Disconnect the W7 box connector.
    2. Disconnect the DD ECU connector.

    3. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard voltage 

      ROOF CONSOLE BOX - MAIN BODY ECU AND BATTERY VOLTAGE

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      W7-2 (B) - Body ground Always 11 to 14 V
    4. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard resistance 

      ROOF CONSOLE BOX - MAIN BODY ECU AND BATTERY RESISTANCE

      Tester Connection Switch Condition Specified Condition
      W7-1 (CTY) - DD-51 OLE) Room light switch DOOR Below 1 Ω
      W7-1 (CTY) - Body ground Room light switch DOOR 10 kΩ or higher

    NG: REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU
