Tire Pressure Sensor: Removal
- Deflate tire. Unscrew tire pressure sensor retaining nut, and allow sensor to fall into tire.
- Gently bounce tire so that tire pressure sensor falls to bottom of tire. Place wheel and tire assembly on tire changing machine and break both tire beads. Ensure that sensor remains at bottom of the tire while breaking the bead.
- Turn tire so that valve hole is at bottom, and gently bounce tire to ensure tire pressure sensor is near valve hole. Carefully lift tire onto turntable, and position valve hole (and sensor) 270 degrees from mounting/dismounting head. See Fig 1.
- Lubricate tire well, and remove top side of tire. Reach inside the tire and remove the tire pressure sensor. See Fig 2.
- Remove the second side of the tire as normal.
