Control Description

• The INFINITI drive mode selector switches a vehicle mode with the flick of a switch (drive mode select switch) mounted on upper part of the center console and changes the control characteristics of the power train, combination meter, chassis function, driver assistant system, AWD function.
• When the ignition switch is ON from the OFF state, the drive mode select switch starts in STANDARD / AUTO mode regardless of drive mode during ignition switch ON.
• The vehicle characteristic can be set as following table in information display by the operation of the steering switch. The driver can drive the vehicle with the vehicle characteristics set by selecting PERSONAL with the drive mode select switch.
  NOTE: PERSONAL mode setting is linked with Log-in function.

• The vehicle characteristics are controlled from the STANDARD / AUTO mode to any mode listed below:

  PERSONAL	This mode is used for adjusting drive modes. Turn the PERSONAL mode OFF for normal driving.
  SPORT	Adjusts the engine points for a higher response. The setting of the steering system is adjusted to moderately increase steering wheel effort for a sporty feel.
  ECO	Assists the driver's eco-driving. The engine points are adjusted for improved fuel economy, providing such a driving features as smooth starting or constant cruising.
  SNOW	This mode makes it easier to start and run from snowy roads and frozen roads.

ENGINE CHARACTERISTICS 

• The engine output characteristics when a mode is switched with the drive mode select switch is as follows.

  Drive mode select switch	Engine output
  PERSONAL	Depends on settings of "Acceleration" performed on the PERSONAL setting screen.
  SPORT	Accelerator opening characteristics is more aggressive.
  STANDARD / AUTO	Normal
  ECO	Accelerator opening characteristics is more passive.
  SNOW	Accelerator opening characteristics is more passive.

  NOTE: After switching mode to a mode that engine output increase, engine output characteristics are changed after releasing the accelerator pedal.

• The combination meter characteristics when a mode is switched with the drive mode select switch is as follows.

  NOTE: Steering characteristics change after mode switching when the steering angle is near the neutral position and the steering wheel is not turning.
