Front Wiper Motor: Impulse

  1. To check low speed operation, clamp wiper motor in a soft-jawed vise. Connect jumper wire from positive battery terminal to terminal No. 3 and negative battery terminal to terminal No. 2 of wiper motor connector. See Figure . Wiper motor should operate at low speed.
  2. To check high speed operation, connect jumper wire from positive battery terminal to terminal No. 3 and negative battery terminal to terminal No. 1 of wiper motor connector. See Figure . Wiper motor should operate at high speed.
  3. To check the stop or off operation, connect jumper wire from positive battery terminal to terminal No. 3 and negative battery terminal to terminal No. 2 of wiper motor connector. See Figure . Wiper motor should operate on low speed.
  4. Disconnect positive battery from terminal No. 3 so wiper motor will stop. Connect jumper wire from positive battery terminal to terminal No. 6 and negative battery terminal to terminal No. 2 of wiper motor connector. See Figure . Install a jumper wire between terminals No. 3 and 5. Wiper motor should operate at low speed then stop at the off position.
  5. Disconnect jumper wire between terminals No. 3 and 5. With positive battery terminal connected to terminal No. 6, connect jumper wire from negative battery terminal to terminal No. 3 of wiper motor connector. See Figure . Install a jumper wire between terminals No. 2 and 5. Wiper motor should rotate one full revolution in opposite direction then stop. Replace wiper motor if it does not operate as specified.
