Code 33: Map Sensor (Signal Volt Hi): Notes

NOTE: Test numbers refer to test numbers on diagnostic chart.

Code 33 will set when the signal is too high, for more than 5 seconds, TPS is less than 4 percent and vehicle speed is zero MPH. Engine misfire or a low unstable idle may set Code 33. Disconnect MAP sensor and system will go into back-up mode, using TPS signal to control fuel delivery.
If ECM recognizes the low MAP signal, ECM and wiring are okay.
