System Check Procedure

  1. Turn key to ON position. Check that the engine hood, rear hatch, and doors on both sides are closed and locked. Go to next step.
  2. Fully open all windows. Go to next step.
  3. Turn key to OFF position and remove key. Check that the indicator light turns off. If light does not turn off, see PINPOINT TEST K: INDICATOR LIGHT STARTS TO FLASH  . If not, go to next step.
  4. Use locking knob to unlock driver side door. Go to next step.
  5. Open driver side door and get out of vehicle. Check that the indicator light flashes and the interior light comes on. If not, go to PINPOINT TEST A: INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT FLASH  . If system operates as specified, go to next step.
  6. Close driver side door. Go to next step.
  7. Lock driver side door. Check that the indicator light changes to ON condition. If yes, go to next step. If not, see PINPOINT TEST B: INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT CHANGE TO FULLY ON CONDITION, OR DOES NOT COME ON AT ALL  .
  8. Wait. Check that the indicator light goes out after ten seconds. Activate alarm device. If yes, go to next step. If not, see PINPOINT TEST C: INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT GO OUT  .
  9. Unlock driver door with inside locking knob. Check that alarm functions, headlights flash and horn sounds intermittently. If alarm functions normally, go to next step. If not, see PINPOINT TEST D: WHEN DOOR IS UNLOCKED WITH LOCKING KNOB, ALARM DOES NOT FUNCTION  .
  10. Insert key into driver door and unlock. Check that alarm stops when key is in the unlock position. If alarm stops, go to next step. If not, see PINPOINT TEST E: ALARM DOES NOT STOP  .
  11. Lock driver side door. Check that the indicator light comes on. If light comes on, go to next step. If not, see PINPOINT TEST B: INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT CHANGE TO FULLY ON CONDITION, OR DOES NOT COME ON AT ALL  .
  12. Activate alarm. Check that the indicator light goes out after ten seconds. If light goes out, go to next step. If light does not go out, see PINPOINT TEST C: INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT GO OUT  .
  13. Use key to unlock driver side door. Check that alarm does not start. If does not start, go to next step. If alarm does start, see PINPOINT TEST F: ALARM SOUNDS EVEN WHEN DOOR IS UNLOCKED WITH KEY  .
  14. Lock driver side door, using key. Check that the indicator light comes on. If light comes on, go to next step. If light does not come on, see PINPOINT TEST B: INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT CHANGE TO FULLY ON CONDITION, OR DOES NOT COME ON AT ALL  .
  15. Activate alarm. Check that the indicator light does not go out after ten seconds. If light does not go out, go to next step. If light does go out, see PINPOINT TEST C: INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT GO OUT  .
  16. Open rear hatch with handle. Check that alarm sounds. If alarm sounds, go to next step. If alarm does not sound, see PINPOINT TEST G: ALARM DOES NOT SOUND EVEN WHEN REAR HATCH IS OPENED WITH HANDLE  .
  17. Insert key into key cylinder in rear hatch and turn key. Check that alarm stops. If yes, go to next step. If no, see PINPOINT TEST H: ALARM DOES NOT STOP EVEN WHEN REAR HATCH IS OPENED WITH A KEY  .
  18. Open rear hatch and turn luggage compartment light switch to on and off position. Check that luggage compartment light goes on. If yes, go to next step. If no, see PINPOINT TEST G: ALARM DOES NOT SOUND EVEN WHEN REAR HATCH IS OPENED WITH HANDLE  .
  19. Close rear hatch. Check that indicator light comes on. If light comes on, go to next step. If not, see PINPOINT TEST B: INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT CHANGE TO FULLY ON CONDITION, OR DOES NOT COME ON AT ALL  .
  20. Activate alarm. Check that indicator light goes out after ten seconds. If light goes out, go to next step. If not, see PINPOINT TEST C: INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT GO OUT  .
  21. Unlock passenger side door with inside locking knob. Check that alarm sounds. If yes, go to next step. If not, see PINPOINT TEST D: WHEN DOOR IS UNLOCKED WITH LOCKING KNOB, ALARM DOES NOT FUNCTION  .
  22. Insert key into passenger side door and unlock. Check that alarm stop. If alarm stops, go to next step. If not, see PINPOINT TEST E: ALARM DOES NOT STOP  .
  23. Open passenger side door. Check that the indicator light flashes and that the interior light comes on. If yes, go to next step. If not, see PINPOINT TEST A: INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT FLASH  .
  24. Close passenger door. Lock door with locking button. Go to next step.
  25. Lock passenger door. Check that the indicator light comes on. If yes, go to next step. If no, see PINPOINT TEST B: INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT CHANGE TO FULLY ON CONDITION, OR DOES NOT COME ON AT ALL  .
  26. Activate alarm. Check that the indicator light goes out after ten seconds. If yes, go to next step. If no, see PINPOINT TEST C: INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT GO OUT  .
  27. Use key to unlock passenger side door. Check that alarm does not sound. If yes, go to next step. If no, see PINPOINT TEST F: ALARM SOUNDS EVEN WHEN DOOR IS UNLOCKED WITH KEY  .
  28. Lock passenger door. Check that the indicator light comes on. If yes, go to next step. If no, see PINPOINT TEST B: INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT CHANGE TO FULLY ON CONDITION, OR DOES NOT COME ON AT ALL  .
  29. Activate alarm. Check that the indicator lights goes out after ten seconds. If yes, go to next step. If no, see PINPOINT TEST C: INDICATOR LIGHT DOES NOT GO OUT  .
  30. Use engine hood release handle to open engine compartment. Check that the alarm sounds. If yes, go to next step. If no, see PINPOINT TEST I: ALARM DOES NOT SOUND WHEN ENGINE HOOD RELEASE IS TRIGGERED  .
  31. Insert key into ignition and turn to ACC position. Check that the alarm stops. If yes, anti-theft system is okay. If no, see PINPOINT TEST J: IGNITION DOES NOT STOP ALARM  .
