Cruise control system consists of an actuator, brake switch, inhibitor switch (A/T), clutch switch (M/T), neutral switch (M/T), cruise control switch, engage switch, and cruise control module.
Actuator is located in right side of engine compartment and is connected to throttle by a cable. Cruise control switch, mounted on cruise lever, activates cruise control system and supplies power to cruise control module. SET button sets desired speed. On Amigo and Pickup, cruise control module is located under right kick panel. On Rodeo, cruise control module is located under left kick panel. On Trooper, cruise control module is located behind glove box. SeeFig 1 -Fig 3 .
The speed (cruise) control system is designed to maintain constant speeds above 25 MPH (40 km/h). System will disengage when OFF button, clutch pedal or brake pedal is depressed.
