Solenoid Return Test

  1. Connect negative battery lead to terminal 50 (terminal "C" on 3.2L) and ground. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . Connect battery positive lead to terminal "C" (terminal "M" on 3.2L). Pinion should flutter.
  2. Disconnect lead at terminal 50 (terminal "C" on 3.2L). Pinion should immediately return to stationary position. If pinion does not return to stationary position, replace solenoid.
