Test C-2, Sensor Output Inspection

  1. Turn ignition switch to OFF position. Connect Pinout Box (J-35592). Raise and support vehicle. Measure A/C voltage between the following pinout box terminals while turning each wheel one revolution per second.
  2. For left front sensor, measure between terminals No. 4 and 22. For right front sensor, measure between terminals No. 21 and 23. For left rear sensor, measure between terminals No. 8 and 9. For right rear sensor, measure between terminals No. 24 and 26.
  3. If voltage reading for each wheel is 200 millivolts, sensor output is okay. If voltage reading for each wheel is less than 200 millivolts, disconnect each wheel speed sensor. Using a DVOM, measure resistance between wheel speed sensor connector terminals.
  4. If resistance is not 800-1300 ohms, check for faulty connector, open or short circuit in wiring between speed sensor connector and EBCM. Repair as necessary. If resistance is 800-1300 ohms, check for faulty speed sensor. Replace speed sensor as necessary.
