Intake Control System
The intake control system consists of an intake control diaphragm and an intake control solenoid valve. When engine speed drops to less than 3500-4000 RPM and engine air requirements drop, the PCM activates the intake control solenoid valve. This supplies intake manifold vacuum to intake control diaphragm. Intake control diaphragm closes off one of the 2 air intakes, along with resonator chamber, and reduces intake air noise.
