Section 8 (Anti-Theft System): Description

Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.
The PassLock(R) (anti-theft) system is designed to prevent vehicle theft by disabling the engine, unless a mechanical key is used to correctly engage and rotate the PassLock(R) lock cylinder. System components include ignition switch, PassLock(R) lock cylinder, PassLock(R) sensor, Body Control Module (BCM) and Powertrain Control Module (PCM on 2.2L engine)/Vehicle Control Module (PCM on 4.3L engine).
