Driver's Seat Slide Function Inoperative

  1. Disconnect driver's power seat switch connector (T-1). With driver's power seat switch in neutral position, use DVOM to check for continuity between switch terminals No. 5 and 10 (switch side). See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . If continuity is indicated, go to next step. If continuity is not indicated, replace switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  2. Reconnect driver's power seat switch. Using a DVOM connected to ground, backprobe switch connector terminal No. 5 (Green wire) with switch depressed to move seat forward. Also backprobe switch connector terminal No. 10 (Green/Red wire) with switch depressed to move seat rearward. If battery voltage is indicated, go to next step. If battery voltage is not indicated, Replace driver's power seat switch. See POWER SEAT SWITCHES  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  3. Disconnect driver's seat slide motor. Momentarily connect a fused jumper wire between battery voltage and driver's seat slide motor connector terminal No. 1 (Green wire). Connect jumper wire between ground and driver's seat slide motor connector terminal No. 2 (Green/Red wire). Reverse connections. If seat slide motor operates in both directions, go to next step. If motor does not operate in both directions, replace driver's seat slide motor. See SEAT MOTORS  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
  4. Repair open in Green wire or Green/Red wire between driver's power seat switch and driver's seat slide motor. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . After repairs, recheck system operation.
