NAKAMICHI RADIO EXCHANGE PROGRAM

TECHNICAL SERVICE BULLETIN

SERVICE INFORMATION

This bulletin has been developed to provide you with the 2001 Rodeo and 2001 Trooper Anniversary Edition Nakamichi Radio Exchange Program.

Once you have performed the pertinent troubleshooting steps (attached) and have determined a radio exchange chassis needs to be ordered you will need to provide the manufacturer with the following:

1. • Dealer name, address and Isuzu dealer code number.
   • Dealer R.O. number.
   • VIN.
   • Delivery date.
   • Vehicle mileage.
   • Radio chassis model (refer to applicable audio chart).
   • Accurate description of problem (i.e, cassette won't eject; no illumination, poor sound quality ect.).
   • Customer's name and address.

   Do not remove the defective unit until the replacement unit has been received. 

2. After the replacement radio has been received from the radio manufacturer, notify the customer for installation of the exchange unit. A Return Label and Claim Invoice will arrive with the replacement radio. If the customer does not return to have their radio replaced within thirty (30) days, return the exchange unit to the manufacturer, using the procedure outlined for radio return. 
3. Verify that the model number is the same on the defective unit, the exchange unit and on the claim invoice before  installing the exchange unit. If the model numbers do not  match, notify the radio manufacturer immediately.

   After installation of the exchange unit, the defective unit should be packed in the same manner the exchange was received. Enclose a copy of the claim invoice with the defective unit.

   Incorrect and/or damaged radios received by the manufacturer will be returned to the dealer and a charge back issued. Liquid spill, attempted theft, modifications, and units tampered with by unauthorized personnel are not warrantable  .

4. Using the return label provided by the radio manufacturer, return the defective unit to the radio manufacturer as outlined on the claim invoice. Defective units must be returned to the radio manufacturer UPS Ground, within thirty (30) days of the exchange unit original shipment date. 

   Charge backs will be processed for units outstanding over thirty (30) days and will appear on the Dealer's Monthly Accounting Statement. Delinquent units returned after a charge back has been processed will be returned to the dealer with the charge back considered final.

   DO NOT return the radio to American Isuzu Motors Inc. 

5. Genuine Isuzu CD players/ changers were designed for use with compact discs bearing the Compact Disc Digital Audio symbol. It is important that the customer always use discs bearing this symbol in their vehicle's CD player changer. Discs bearing the compact disc recordable (CD-R) or the compact disc rewritable (CD-RW) symbols may not play in these CD players/changers.
6. Reimbursement of labor and shipping charges (sublet RF up to $10.00) for replacement and return of defective radio units should be requested on a normal warranty claim submitted through the Isuzu ICS system.

   Compliance with the radio exchange program is essential to the New Car Limited Warranty Claims submitted for the cost of new radios are not in compliance with the radio exchange program and are not eligible for warranty reimbursement.

   After the appropriate personnel have reviewed and initialized this bulletin, file in section 16 of the Service Policy and Procedures Manual.
