Upper Steering Column: Inspection
- Check column for straightness. Replace column if bent or length is incorrect. Length from end-to-end (without universal joint) should be 21.56-21.70" (547.7-551.1 mm).
- Check universal joint axial clearance. Clearance should be .375" (9.5 mm). If clearance is less, move upper universal joint along lower column to increase clearance.
