Throttle Position Sensor: XJS
- Disconnect negative battery cable. Remove throttle linkage from throttle pulley assembly. Disconnect electrical connector from TPS. Remove 4 nuts and spring washers from throttle pulley assembly.
- Remove throttle pulley assembly from vehicle. Loosen 2 screws securing TPS. Insert a .050" (1.3 mm) feeler gauge between pulley and pulley stop.
- Connect an ohmmeter between terminals No. 12 and 17 of TPS. Rotate TPS until ohmmeter indicates infinity. Tighten TPS attaching screws.
- Remove feeler gauge. Ohmmeter should indicate continuity when pulley is closed against stop. Install throttle pulley assembly on vehicle.
