Stall Test
CAUTION:
Test must not last longer than 10 seconds. Allow engine to idle in Neutral at least 2 minutes between tests to cool transmission.
- Install a 0-300 psi pressure gauge with extension pressure line, to pressure take off point at left side of transmission near manual lever. Place gauge where it can be seen from driver's seat. See Fig 1 .
- Ensure engine is properly tuned and engine and transmission are at operating temperature. Chock wheels, set hand brake and apply service brake. Start engine and place selector in drive.
- Gradually apply full throttle and note maximum RPM and line pressure. If transmission slip occurs, stop engine and locate cause. Restart engine and repeat procedure with selector in reverse.
