Fuel Injectors
Solenoid-operated fuel injectors are controlled by ECM. The duration of injector on time (pulse) is determined by ECM depending on intake airflow (engine load) and engine RPM input signals from mass airflow sensor and crankshaft position sensor.
Information is used by ECM to access mapped data stored in 256 memory locations. The stored data contains injector pulse durations for 16 engine loads at 16 different speeds. Information is used by ECM to access mapped data stored in 256 memory locations. Injectors are usually pulsed twice per engine cycle, with one half of the fuel being injected every time the injector is pulsed.
NOTE:
New plate-type, twin spray fuel injectors are used. A Green band around injector body is used to identify plate-type injectors.
