ISSUE

Symptom 208000 Climate Control

Due to the introduction of the Refrigerant - R-1234yf , JLR wish to clarify what lubricant oil is fitted to A/C compressors.

WSH-M1C231-B and SP-A2 Refrigerant oil are the current A/C Compressor lubricants.

WSH-M1C231-B is used in the Visteon A/C Compressors. Visteon has not changed the lubricant for R-1234yf as its existing lubricant was found to be forwards and backwards compatible on Visteon compressors.

SP-A2 is used in the Sanden A/C Compressors. This replaces SP-10.

SP-A2 can be used in both R-134a and R-1234yf systems, but SP-10 must not be used in R-1234yf systems

The list below details what make A/C Compressor is fitted to what Model:-

Jaguar 12my Onwards

XK - Sanden SP-A2

XF - Sanden SP-A2

XJ - Sanden SP-A2

NOTE: Denso ND-8 can still be used as a substitute for SP-10
