Negative Contactor (G2260682): Removal

WARNING:
  • This procedure must only be carried out after approval from Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).
  • Before any component replacement all technicians must follow the correct diagnostic guided flow for the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) present on the vehicle.
  • This procedure must be done in the exact sequence shown below. Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury.
  • It is the responsibility of the EVCP to make sure they comply with any local legislation regarding working with High Voltages (HV) within this procedure.
NOTE:
  • This procedure must be done under a Permit To Work (PTW).
  • All Permit To Work (PTW) documents must be kept for a minimum of 5 years.
  • This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
  1. This procedure must only be carried out, if directed to do so by the associated diagnostic guided flow  .
  2. WARNING: Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Electric Vehicle Competent Person (EVCP) trained technicians only.
    • This procedure involves work on components associated with the High Voltage (HV) system. Only technicians qualified to Electric Vehicle Competent Person (EVCP) level or higher are allowed to do this procedure  . It is mandated that all technicians involved with the steps in this procedure have read and understood the EV Safety Rules.

  3. CAUTION:
    • Electrostatic discharge gloves must be worn.
    • Note the orientation of the High Voltage (HV) wiring harness cable shoes before removing.

    • Remove and discard the 7 fuse bolts.

  4. CAUTION: Electrostatic discharge gloves must be worn.

    • Remove and discard the temperature sensor bolt.

  5. CAUTION:
    • Electrostatic discharge gloves must be worn.
    • Note the orientation of the High Voltage (HV) wiring harness cable shoes before removing.

    • Remove and discard the 3 busbar nuts.

      General Equipment: Electrostatic discharge gloves 

    • Remove the 2 busbars.
  6. CAUTION: Electrostatic discharge gloves must be worn.

    • Release the clip.

      General Equipment: Electrostatic discharge gloves 

    • Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear inverter current sensor.
  7. CAUTION: Electrostatic discharge gloves must be worn.

    • Release the busbar from the BEM base.
