Battery Electrical Module (G2260672): Removal
- This procedure must only be carried out after approval from Jaguar Land Rover (JLR).
- Before any component replacement all technicians must follow the correct diagnostic guided flow for the Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTC's) present on the vehicle.
- This procedure must be carried out in the exact sequence shown below. Failure to do so could result in serious personal injury.
- It is the responsibility of the EVAP/EVSAP to make sure they comply with any local legislation regarding working with High Voltages (HV) within this procedure.
- The approved Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) must be worn where indicated by the orange PPE icons within this procedure, all persons involved in this procedure must have read and understood article ABOUT THIS SERVICE INFORMATION before continuing.
- This procedure requires the use of Class 0 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), all persons involved in this procedure must have read and understood the PPE requirements as detailed in article ELECTRIC VEHICLE SAFETY RULES .
- All PPE equipment must be checked for wear or damage prior to use and replaced if damaged.
- All safety locking device keys must be kept in the designated key lock box at least 5 metres away from the vehicle.
- All Permit To Work (PTW) documents must be kept for a minimum of 5 years.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

This procedure involves work on components associated with the High Voltage (HV) system. Only technicians qualified to EVAP level or higher are allowed to do this procedure . It is mandated that all technicians involved with the steps in this procedure have read and understood the Electric Vehicle (EV) Safety Rules.

WARNING: Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Electric Vehicle Authorized Person (EVAP) trained technicians only.
Power down the High Voltage (HV) system. Only technicians qualified to Electric Vehicle Authorized Person (EVAP) level or higher are allowed to do this procedure . It is mandated that all technicians involved with the steps in this procedure have read and understood the EV Safety Rules.

Display the Safe sign so it is clearly visible to anyone outside of the live work area.

- Before continuing this process a battery housing pressure test must be completed.
Refer to: ELECTRIC VEHICLE BATTERY PRESSURE TEST .
- If the High Voltage (HV) battery fails the pressure test then please raise a Technical Assist (TA) and await further guidance before continuing with this procedure.
- Before continuing this process a battery housing pressure test must be completed.

WARNING: This step must only be carried out after the I-Pace BEM Zero Voltage Check application as requested in the Electric Vehicle (EV) high voltage system power down/up- Battery Electric Module replacement procedure.CAUTION: The electrical connectors must be removed carefully by releasing and pulling directly upwards.
Using a suitable trim tool, disconnect and release the 3 BEM electrical connectors.
General Equipment: Insulated Pick
- Remove and discard the 6 BEM retaining bolts.
- Install the pin assembly into the BEM.
Special Tool(s): JLR-415-057
- Holding the pin (B), tighten the locking nut (A) by hand until the whole assembly is grips the BEM housing.
- Install the pin assembly into the BEM.

WARNING: Make sure the pins are correctly located before lifting the BEM.
Using the module handling tool lift the BEM directly upwards and clear of the EV battery.

Install the transparent insulated mat as shown above in the illustration.

NOTE: This step can be carried out away from the EV battery therefore does not require PPE.
Remove and discard the BEM gasket.

NOTE: This step is not required if the component is removed for access only.
- Remove the padlock.
General Equipment: Insulated padlock
- Remove the High Voltage (HV) Lock-out tool.
Special Tool(s): JLR-415-013
- Remove the padlock.
