Alternator - PARIS-RHONE: Precautions

To avoid damaging the charging system, always abide the following precautions:

• DO NOT  attempt to polarize the alternator.
• DO NOT  short circuit across terminals or connect ground to any terminals in the charging system except as specifically instructed.
• Never drive the alternator with the engine when the output terminal circuit is open or disconnected.
• Ensure that the alternator and battery have same ground polarity.
• When connecting a charger or a booster battery to vehicle battery, connect negative terminal to negative terminal and positive terminal to positive terminal.
