SERVICE INFORMATION

An additional character has been added to the Engine Build Date Code 2 for 1988 Jeep 5.9L, 4.2L, 4.OL and 2.46L engines and the Eagle Premier 2.46L engine.

This bulletin contains the Engine Build Date Code configuration for 1988 engines.

The Build Date Code is located on a machined surface on the right side of the cylinder block between the No. 3 and 4 cylinder on 2.46L engine and between the No. 2 and 3 cylinder on the 4.2L and 4.OL engines. The Build Date Code for the 5.9L engine is located on a plate attached to the right bank cylinder head cover. See Fig 1 .
