Valve Body: Reassembly
- Lubricate all components and bores with ATF. To reassemble upper body, reverse disassembly procedure. Ensure original number of throttle valve adjusting rings are installed (if equipped).
- Ensure all retainers and valve stop are properly installed. See Fig 1
. Ensure end of throttle valve cam spring is engaged with hole in throttle valve cam and with slot in upper body. Tighten throttle valve cam retaining bolt to specification. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS

- To reassemble lower body, reverse disassembly procedure. When installing retainer into sleeve for primary regulator valve, ensure retainer engages lugs on sleeve. See Fig 2
.
- Install NEW "O" rings on solenoids. Tighten solenoid retaining bolts to specification. Ensure proper length strainer is installed in lower body. See Fig 3
.
CAUTION:
Two different length strainers are used in lower body. Ensure proper length strainer is installed in specified location. See Fig 3

- When reassembling upper and lower bodies, ensure check balls are installed in upper body. See Figure
. Install gasket on upper body (if equipped).
- Install separator plate on upper body and gasket (if equipped). Ensure all openings in separator plate align with gasket (if equipped) and upper housing.
- Install remaining gasket (if equipped) on separator plate. Install lower body on upper body.
- Install proper length upper body-to-lower body retaining bolts in specified location. See Fig 4
. Tighten retaining bolts to specification. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS
.
- Install manual valve. Install detent spring for manual valve and retaining bolt. Ensure both pieces of detent spring are installed. Tighten retaining bolt to specification.
