Verification Test VER-1A - System Verification Test

  1. Disconnect all jumper wires. Reconnect all disconnected connectors. Reinstall all removed relays. Replace any blown fuses. Using scan tool, erase ABS Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Turn ignition off and then on. Using scan tool, monitor the READ DTCs display for 3 minutes. If scan tool does not display any ABS DTCs, go to next step. If scan tool displays any ABS DTCs, perform TEST 1A  .
  2. Using scan tool, read brakelight switch input. Depress brake pedal. If scan tool displays PRESSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display PRESSED, go to VERIFICATION TEST VER-1B  .
  3. Using scan tool, read acceleration ("G") switch input. If scan tool displays both "G" SWITCH #1 CLOSED and "G" SWITCH #2 CLOSED, go to next step. If scan tool does not display both "G" SWITCH #1 CLOSED and "G" SWITCH #2 CLOSED, go to TEST 3A  .
  4. Using scan tool, read DTCs and observe ABS warning light. If warning light is flashing, go to next step. If ABS warning light is not flashing, go to VERIFICATION TEST VER-1C  .
  5. Depress brake pedal and using scan tool, actuate left front outlet valve. If brake pedal "drop" was felt when valve was actuated, go to next step. If brake pedal "drop" was not felt when valve was actuated, replace Hydraulic Control Unit (HCU).
  6. With brake pedal depressed and using scan tool, actuate right front outlet valve. If brake pedal "drop" was felt when valve was actuated, go to next step. If brake pedal "drop" was not felt when valve was actuated, replace HCU.
  7. With brake pedal depressed and using scan tool, actuate rear outlet valve. If brake pedal "drop" was felt when valve was actuated, go to next step. If brake pedal "drop" was not felt when valve was actuated, replace HCU.
  8. Road test vehicle for a minimum of 5 minutes at various speeds. Perform several anti-lock braking stops to fully utilize ABS system. Using scan tool, read DTCs. If scan tool displays any DTCs, go to TEST 1A  . If scan tool does not display any DTCs, system is operating properly at this time. Test is complete.
