Test SC-4A - Checking Speed Control Operation

  1. Turn ignition off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connector. Check connector for damaged, pushed out or miswired terminals. Repair as necessary. Perform TEST SC-VER  . If connector is okay, ensure gear selector is in Drive. Using DRB in ohmmeter mode, check resistance of Black PCM connector terminal A6, Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch sense circuit (Brown/Yellow wire on XJ).
  2. If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform TEST SC-VER  . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, disconnect 3-pin PNP switch connector. Check connector, and clean and repair as necessary. Perform TEST SC-VER  .
  3. If connector is okay, check resistance of Black PCM connector terminal A6, Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch sense circuit (Brown/Yellow wire on XJ). If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, replace PNP switch. Perform TEST SC-VER  . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair short to ground in Brown/Yellow wire. Perform TEST SC-VER  .
