Test SC-1B - Checking Speed Control Operation
- Disconnect brake switch 6-pin connector. Check connector for damaged, pushed out or miswired terminals. Repair as necessary. Perform TEST SC-VER . If connector is okay, turn ignition on. Ensure speed control vent solenoid is still in activation mode.
- Using an external voltmeter, probe brake switch connector terminal No. 1, speed control power supply circuit (Yellow/Red wire). If voltage is less than 10 volts, go to step 4).
- If voltage is greater than 10 volts, turn ignition off. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance between brake switch connector terminal No. 4 and speed control servo connector terminal No. 3, (Dark Blue/Red wire). See Figure -Figure . If resistance is greater than 5 ohms, repair open in Dark Blue/Red wire. Perform TEST SC-VER . If resistance is 5 ohms or less, replace brake switch. Perform TEST SC-VER .
- Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect Powertrain Control Module (PCM) connectors. Inspect connectors and terminals for damage. Repair connectors and terminals as necessary and perform TEST SC-VER . If connectors and terminals are okay, go to next step.
- Using external ohmmeter measure resistance of speed control power supply circuit (Yellow/Red wire) between PCM connector terminal C11 and brake switch connector terminal No. 1. See Figure -Figure .
- If resistance is 5 ohms or more, repair open in Yellow/Red wire. Perform TEST SC-VER . If resistance is less than 5 ohms, replace PCM. Perform TEST SC-VER .
