Door Ajar Test 9C - Liftgate Ajar Open Circuit

NOTE: Perform DOOR AJAR TEST 9A before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS . After each repair, perform TEST VER-1A .

CAUTION: Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.

Disconnect liftgate ajar switch connector. Connect jumper wire between liftgate ajar switch connector terminals No. 1 (Black wire) and No. 2 (Tan/Black wire). Using scan tool, read liftgate ajar switch status. If scan tool displays LIFTGATE AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, replace liftgate ajar switch. If scan tool does not display LIFTGATE AJAR SWITCH: CLOSED, repair open in Black wire between liftgate glass ajar switch and ground.
