Interior Lighting Test 3A - Courtesy Lights Inoperative From Headlight Switch
NOTE:
Perform INTERIOR LIGHTING TEST 1A
before proceeding with this test. For connector terminal identification, refer to CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION
. For wiring diagrams, refer to WIRING DIAGRAMS
. After each repair, perform TEST VER-1A
.
CAUTION:
Always turn ignition switch to OFF position prior to disconnecting any module connector. Ensure all connectors are clean and tight.
- Ensure ignition switch is off and all doors are closed. Disconnect headlight switch connector. Using scan tool in ohmmeter mode, measure resistance at terminal No. 2 (Black wire) headlight switch connector. If resistance is more than 5 ohms, repair open in Black wire. If resistance is 5 ohms or less, go to next step.
- Connect a jumper wire between terminal No. 3 (Pink/Light Blue wire) on headlight switch connector and ground. If courtesy lights illuminate, replace headlight switch. If courtesy lights do not illuminate, go to next step.
- Backprobe a jumper wire between terminal No. 6 (Pink/Light Blue wire) on Body Control Module (BCM) Black 24-pin connector and ground. Do not disconnect BCM connector. BCM is located under left side of dash. See Figure in CHIME TEST 3A.If courtesy lights illuminate, repair open in Pink/Light Blue wire. If courtesy lights do not illuminate, replace BCM.
