Test NTC-21B: Checking Oil Pressure Sensor
NOTE:
This test applies to AB body only. For connector terminal identification, see CONNECTOR IDENTIFICATION . For component location and wiring diagram, see WIRING DIAGRAMS article.
- Remove oil pressure sensor. Install oil pressure gauge in oil pressure sensor opening. Start engine and let it idle. Read oil pressure. If oil pressure is not at least 4 psi (.3 kg/cm2 ), repair mechanical engine oil pressure problem as necessary and perform TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST VERIFICATION . If oil pressure is to specification, go to next step.
- Allow engine to reach normal operating temperature. If oil pressure is not at least 4 psi (.3 kg/cm2 ) with engine at idle, repair mechanical engine oil pressure problem as necessary and perform TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST VERIFICATION . If oil pressure is to specification, replace oil pressure sensor and perform TEST VER-2A: ROAD TEST VERIFICATION .
NOTE:
A break in test sequence occurs at this point. Sequence skips from TEST NTC-21B to TEST NTC-25A. No tests have been omitted.
