Speed (Cruise) Control Switch Test

Disconnect negative battery cable. Wait 2 minutes for air bag system capacitor to discharge. Remove both speed control switch assemblies from steering wheel and disconnect connectors. See the SPEED (CRUISE) CONTROL SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Using an ohmmeter, check resistance at speed control switch terminals No. 1 and 2 (on both switches). See the SPEED CONTROL SWITCH RESISTANCE  . See Fig 1 . If continuity is not as specified, replace defective speed control switch.
