  1. Remove and inspect fuse No. 9 from fuse block. Fuse block is behind glove compartment. If fuse is blown, go to next step. If fuse is okay, go to step 4)  .
  2. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and fused ignition switch output terminal on fuse No. 9 socket. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace fuse No. 9.
  3. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect battery and wait 2 minutes. Disconnect Airbag Control Module (ACM) connector. Using ohmmeter, measure resistance between ground and fused ignition switch output terminal on fuse No. 9. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, repair fused ignition switch output circuit for short to ground. Replace fuse No. 9. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, replace ACM. Replace fuse No. 9.
  4. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and ignition output terminal on fuse No. 9 socket. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open ignition switch output circuit. If voltage is more than 10 volts, go to next step.
  5. Ensure ignition is off. Disconnect battery and wait 2 minutes. Disconnect Airbag Control Module (ACM) connector. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 17 (Light Green/Yellow wire) on ACM harness connector. If voltage is 10 volts or less, repair open Light Green/Yellow wire. If voltage is greater than 10 volts, go to next step.
  6. Turn ignition off. Using ohmmeter mode, measure resistance between ground and terminal No. 10 (Black/Pink wire) on ABSCM harness connector. If resistance is 5 ohms or greater, repair open Black/Pink wire. If resistance is less than 5 ohms, go to next step.
  7. Turn ignition on. Using voltmeter, measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 19 (Violet/Brown wire) on ACM harness connector. If voltage is not 1.8-2.6 volts, repair open Violet/Brown wire. If voltage is 1.8-2.6 volts, go to next step.
  8. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 18 (White/Black wire) on ACM connector. If voltage is not 1.8-2.6 volts, repair open White/Black wire. If voltage is 1.8-2.6 volts, replace ACM.
