No Response From Mechanical Instrument Cluster

  1. Disconnect Mechanical Instrument Cluster (MIC) connectors. Connect jumper between ground and instrument cluster connector C2 terminal No. 2 (Violet/Brown wire). See Figure . Turn ignition on. Using scan tool, select BODY, BODY COMPUTER, then SYSTEM TEST. Perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool displays BUS SHORT TO GROUND, go to next step. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open in Violet/Brown wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Connect jumper between ground and terminal No. 1 (White/Black wire) on instrument cluster right connector. Perform CCD BUS test. If scan tool does not display BUS SHORT TO GROUND, repair open in White/Black wire. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If scan tool displays BUS SHORT TO GROUND, replace instrument cluster circuit board. See appropriate INSTRUMENT PANELS article. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
