Chime Sounds With Driver's Door Open

NOTE: Before proceeding with testing procedure, ensure interior and exterior lights turn on and off properly.
  1. Remove key from ignition switch. Using scan tool, select BODY, BODY COMPUTER and INPUT/OUPUT. Turn ignition on. Monitor KEY-IN-IGNITION status. If KEY-IN-IGNITION status is not CLOSED, go to next step. If KEY-IN-IGNITION status is CLOSED, system is operating properly at this time. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Disconnect ignition switch C2 connector. See Figure . Monitor KEY-IN-IGNITION status. If KEY-IN-IGNITION status is CLOSED, go to next step. If KEY-IN-IGNITION status is not CLOSED, replace ignition switch. See appropriate STEERING COLUMN SWITCHES article. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Disconnect Body Control Module (BCM) C1 connector. See Figure . Using DVOM, measure resistance between BCM C1 connector terminal No. 6 (Light Blue wire) and ground. See Figure . If resistance is greater than 100 ohms, replace BCM. See BODY CONTROL MODULE  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If resistance is less than 100 ohms, repair short to ground in Light Blue wire between BCM and ignition switch. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
