No PCI BUS Communication

Possible Causes are:

  1. Turn ignition on. When the instrument cluster detects no PCI Bus, the VF will display "no bus". Using the DRBIII(R), attempt to communicate with other modules on the PCI Bus. Was the DRBIII(R) able to communicate with other modules? If yes, go to next step. If no diagnose and repair communication fault. See appropriate test in COMMUNICATION  under DIAGNOSTIC TESTS or COMMUNICATION  under SYMPTOM TESTS. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  2. Turn ignition on. Using the DRBIII(R), select SYSTEM MONITORS, then J1850 MODULE SCAN. Does the DRBIII(R) display MIC PRESENT on the BUS? If yes, go to next step. If no, go to BUS +/- SIGNALS OPEN OR NO RESPONSE FROM INSTRUMENT CLUSTER  in COMMUNICATION under SYMPTOM TESTS. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
  3. Using the DRBIII(R), erase DTCs. Cycle the ignition and wait approximately 1 minute. Using the DRBIII(R), read DTCs. Did this DTC reset? If yes, replace the Instrument Cluster. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS. If no, the condition is not present at this time. Monitor DRBIII(R) parameters while wiggling the related wire harness. Refer to any Technical Service Bulletins (TSB) that may apply. Visually inspect the related wiring harness and connector terminals. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST VER 1  under VERIFICATION TESTS.
