One Gauge Inoperative

Possible Causes:

  1. Turn the ignition on. With the DRBIII(R), read DTC's. Does the DRBIII(R) display any PCM DTC's? If yes, see SELF-DIAGNOSTICS - LIBERTY article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE. If no, go to next step.
  2. Turn the ignition off. Perform the Instrument Cluster Self Test by manually depressing and holding the Trip Reset button while turning the ignition on, or by using the DRBIII(R). Observe the gauge in question while the Instrument Cluster performs the Self Test. The gauges should position at the following calibrations points. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER SELF TEST  table. Did the gauge in question operate properly? If yes, test complete. If no, replace the Instrument Cluster. See INSTRUMENT CLUSTER under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION in ANALOG INSTRUMENT PANELS - LIBERTY article. Perform BODY VERIFICATION TEST  .
