Ignition Timing Control System: Notes

Ignition timing is electronically controlled by Powertrain Control Module (PCM). Base ignition timing is not adjustable with this system. PCM controlled ignition system consists crankshaft position sensor, knock sensors, camshaft position sensor and ignition coil(s). The manifold absolute pressure sensor, throttle position sensor, idle air control motor and engine coolant temperature sensor also have an effect on the control of the ignition system.
