Section 9 (6.1L Engine (Service Information)): Cover-Structural: Installation

  1. Loosely install the 4 fasteners.
  2. Ensure the dust cover is flush to the oil pan and transmission.
  3. Torque the bottom fastener to the transmission to 54 N.m (39 ft. lbs).
  4. Torque the top bolt to the Oil Pan to 54 N.m (39 ft. lbs).
  5. Torque the top bolt to the transmission to 54 N.m (39 ft. lbs).
  6. Torque the bottom bolt to the Oil Pan to 54 N.m (39 ft. lbs).
  7. Lower engine into mounts using Tool # 8534 (1).

  8. Tighten motor mount bolts (3).
