4 - DIFFERENTIAL CASE

1. Remove differential bearing cones (ring gear and differential case side) using Puller C-293 - PA (1) , Adapter Blocks C-293-45 (3), and Adaptor C-4996 (2). If all wheel drive use Puller C-293 PA, four C-293-37 Inserts and Press Insert 9678 to remove the large carrier bearing. See Fig 1.

   4 - PINION SHAFT RETAINER (2)

2. Remove the bolts holding the pinion shaft retainer (4) and the ring gear (3) to the differential case (1).

3. Separate differential support (1) from case (2).

4. Remove the side gear thrust washer (1).
5. Remove side gear (2).

6. Remove pinion shaft (1).

7. Remove pinion gear (2) and thrust washers (1).
