Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR ACTIVE DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. Using the scan tool, read the active DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  2

      No 

  2. (W12) REAR WIPER RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND

    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Junction Block C1 harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (W12) Rear Wiper Relay Control circuit at the Junction Block C1 harness connector.

      Is the resistance below 100.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Go to step  3

      No 

  3. (W12) REAR WIPER RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT SHORTED TO GROUND

    1. Disconnect the IPM C2 harness connector.
    2. Measure the resistance between ground and the (W12) Rear Wiper Relay Control circuit at the Junction Block C1 harness connector.

      Is the resistance below 100.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      No 

      • Go to step  4
  4. INTEGRATED POWER MODULE (IPM) / FRONT CONTROL MODULE (FCM)

    1. Reconnect the IPM C2 harness connector.
    2. Remove the FCM from the IPM.
    3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (W12) Rear Wiper Relay Control circuit at the Junction Block C1 harness connector.

      Is the resistance below 100.0 Ohms?

      Yes 

      No
