Module, Vehicle System Interface: Removal: Removal

  1. Remove the instrument panel end cap. Refer to CAP, INSTRUMENT PANEL END, REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the steering column opening cover. Refer to COVER, STEERING COLUMN OPENING, REMOVAL .
  3. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.

  4. Disconnect all electrical connectors from the Vehicle System Interface Module (VSIM).

  5. Depress the tab at the bottom of the VSIM. This will release the lower portion of the VSIM from the VSIM bracket.
  6. Pull the VSIM down and at an angle to release the upper guide tab from the VSIM bracket.
  7. Remove the VSIM from the vehicle.
