The Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor is mounted on the left upper timing cover. The hall effect sensor supplies a signal to the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The PCM uses the signals sent by the CMP and the Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor to determine injection timing.
