The antenna module is an electronic circuit component designed to capture and enhance Radio Frequency (RF) signals in both the AM and FM broadcast bands. The antenna module is mounted to the right C-pillar where it is concealed behind the upper C-pillar trim. The module is grounded at all times through an integral mounting bracket and fastener that secure it to the inner C-pillar.

A connector receptacle on one end of the module connects it through the body wire harness and a noise suppression capacitor to the antenna element grid terminal on the inside surface of the backglass, while a connector receptacle on the other end of the module accepts the FAKRA (an acronym for the German terms: Fachnormenausschuss Kraftfahrzeugindustrie) connector of the coaxial cable routed to the Radio Receiver Module (RRM). The RRM supplies a nine volt supply to the module through the coaxial cable.

The antenna module cannot be adjusted or repaired. If ineffective or damaged it must be replaced.
