Downstream O2S Sensors

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2012 Chrysler 300. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Support the transmission with a safety stand or suitable jack, remove the crossmember retaining bolts and slightly lower the transmission to gain access to the O2S sensor electrical connectors.
    CAUTION:

When disconnecting the oxygen sensor electrical connector, do not pull directly on the wire going into the sensor. The sensor wiring can be damaged resulting in sensor failure.

  3. Disconnect the O2S sensors (3, 4) electrical connectors.
  4. Using the appropriate oxygen sensor removal/installation tool, remove the O2S sensors.
  5. Clean the threads in the catalytic converters using an appropriate tap.
