Downstream O2S Sensors

- Raise and support the vehicle.
- Support the transmission with a safety stand or suitable jack, remove the crossmember retaining bolts and slightly lower the transmission to gain access to the O2S sensor electrical connectors.CAUTION:
When disconnecting the oxygen sensor electrical connector, do not pull directly on the wire going into the sensor. The sensor wiring can be damaged resulting in sensor failure.
- Disconnect the O2S sensors (3, 4) electrical connectors.
- Using the appropriate oxygen sensor removal/installation tool, remove the O2S sensors.
- Clean the threads in the catalytic converters using an appropriate tap.
