Drive, Fan: Installation: Installation

  1. If removed, install the fan drive assembly. Tighten bolts to 45 N.m (33 ft. lbs.).
  2. If removed, install accessory drive belt. Refer to BELT, SERPENTINE, INSTALLATION .

  3. Assemble fan blade (2) to viscous fan drive. Tighten bolts to 24 N.m (18 ft. lbs.).
    NOTE:

    The viscous fan and fan shroud must be installed as an assembly.

  4. Position fan drive assembly and fan shroud, thread the fan drive assembly onto the drive pulley. Using the (special tool #6958, Wrench, Spanner) and (special tool #8346, Pins, Adapter) (2) and suitable fan wrench, tighten fan to 50 N.m (37 ft. lbs.).

  5. Install the fan shroud to radiator mounting bolts (2) and tighten bolts to 9 N.m (80 in. lbs.).

  6. Connect the viscous fan drive wire harness connector (1).

  7. Install the fan shroud (1). Tighten bolts (3) to 9 N.m (80 in. lbs.).
  8. Install the coolant recovery bottle hose (2) onto the fan shroud (1).
  9. Connect the negative battery cable.
