2.0L Diesel

The Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor on the 2.0L engine is installed at the front of the cylinder head below the vacuum pump located on the EGR coolant control valve housing.

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable. If equipped with an Intelligent Battery Sensor (IBS), disconnect the IBS connector first before disconnecting the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the engine cover (1).
3. Partially drain the cooling system. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .

4. Disconnect the Engine Cooling Temperature (ECT) sensor wire harness connector (1).
5. Remove the ECT sensor (2) from the EGR coolant control valve housing.
