Body Control Module (BCM) Re-configure for Heated Seat Function
OVERVIEW
This bulletin involves re-configuring the BCM with the latest available software to correct an issue with the heated seats.

This bulletin applies to vehicles within the following markets/countries: NAFTA.
NOTE:
This bulletin applies to vehicles built on or after October 24, 2016 (MDH 1024XX) and on or before March 29, 2017 (MDH 0329XX) equipped with Heated Front Seats (Sales Code JPM) and Leather Trimmed Bucket Seats (Sales Code *CJ).
SYMPTOM/CONDITION
The customer may describe the heated seats do not achieve satisfactory temperature.
DIAGNOSIS
Using a scan tool (wiTECH) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures available in TechCONNECT, verify no Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are set. If DTCs are present, record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If the customer describes the symptom/condition listed above, perform the REPAIR PROCEDURE .
REPAIR PROCEDURE
NOTE:
Install a battery charger to ensure battery voltage does not drop below 13.2 volts. Do not allow the charging voltage to climb above 13.5 volts during the repair procedure.
- Using wiTECH, reconfigure the BCM to the vehicle. This routine is available under the 'Diagnostic Procedures' tab found on the home, 'Vehicle View', page of wiTECH.
- Using wiTECH clear any DTCs which may have been set during the reconfiguration.
- An active Anti-lock Brake System (ABS) fault code may set on some vehicles following the BCM Restore Vehicle Configuration. Using WiTECH program the correct tire size in the BCM. (BCM> "Miscellaneous Functions"> Program tire size> Follow the screen prompts).
- Perform an ABS Initialization. Refer to the detailed service procedures available in DealerCONNECT> TechCONNECT under: Service Info>28 - DTC-Based Diagnostics/Module, Antilock Brake (ABS)/Standard Procedure.NOTE: If the ABS is not initialized, the ABS indicator will flash continuously.

The dealer must use failure code CC with this Service Bulletin.
- If the customer's concern matches the SYMPTOM/CONDITION identified in the Service Bulletin, failure code CC is to be used.
- When utilizing this failure code, the 3C's (customer's concern, cause and correction) must be provided for processing Service Bulletin flash/reprogramming conditions.
